MHS students raise money for "Stand By Me"

While many of us were sitting around a table eating our cornflakes and contemplating whether or not to go for the second bowl, twenty enthused and clearly fit students, accompanied three members of staff (Mrs Wishart, Mr Campbell, Miss Alexander and Mrs T Wilson), were about to set off on the Belfast Marathon Fun Run- nothing fun about it if you ask me!

Year 8 Netballers Win NEEBSA League

Similar to their Year 9 counterparts, the year 8 team have also had a fantastic seaon, winning all their matches to earn a place in the NEEBSA league finals held in Magherafelt High School on Monday 24th March 2014.

Year 9 Netballers Win NEEBSA Netball League

Magherafelt High hosted the NEBSSA Netball League finals on Monday 24th March.

Similar to the victorious Year 8 netballers, the year 9 netball team have also had a very successful season, winning all their section matches to reach the finals. The team faced Ulidia Integrated (Carrickfergus) in the NEELB final and naturally the girls were a little anxious as they hadn't played them before but had reports on how good a team they were.

Purple Patch Interview Skills Coaching

On Wednesday 12th March 2014, Year 13 students from Magherafelt High School, Sperrin Integrated, St Mary’s Grammar, Rainey Endowed and St Pius X College attended a training workshop for writing effective Personal Statements by understanding their competencies and selling points. 

Personal Statements can make or break a student’s opportunity to gain a place on their course of choice. This workshop provided students with the tools to prepare memorable Personal Statements to give them every opportunity to gain University places.
