Action MS Walks CEO Ann Walker, visited Magherafelt High School on Tuesday for a special awards presentation to thank the pupils for their tremendous efforts on behalf of people with Multiple Sclerosis.  The pupils took part in a Walk for MS at Drum Manor Forest Park during activity week in June and raised a fantastic total of £3,200 in aid of Action MS Northern Ireland's Multiple Sclerosis Charity. 

The pupils pictured with Mrs Ann Walker are the top sponsors, the majority of whom collected over £100 each.

Only just back to school and Miss Huey had these Year 12 pupils up the Mournes this week working towards their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award! Well done girls, great determination and hard work.

The 31 August saw the retirement of three long serving members of staff from the school. 

On Thursday the 19 May Year 10 pupils from Magherafelt High School attended a History Workshop along with pupils from St. Piuxs’.

Pictured are the students who helped lead a workshop at the 23^rd Euroclio Conference, a Conference where 150 History Educators from all over Europe came to Belfast to investigate and discuss topics relating to effective and innovative History teaching.

Senior students, Melissa Murphy, Thomas Steele, Geoffrey McCracken and Jennifer Irwin, showcased the work of the NASUWT’s Civic Voices Oral History project, where students interview interviewees who have a significant story to tell about Civic Activism in the Northern Ireland context. The students helped the teachers prepare and carry out the interview.

Interviewed for this workshop were Mr Tom Hartley, Mr Kenneth Donaldson and Mr Terri Hooley.
