MHS U16 GIRLS' HOCKEY TEAM CELEBRATE TEAM VICTORY
The U16 Magherafelt High School Girls' hockey Team welcomed Glengormley High School here for their first home match in the NEBBSA league.
The U16 Magherafelt High School Girls' hockey Team welcomed Glengormley High School here for their first home match in the NEBBSA league.
At Under 15 level Hannah Vance, Lisa Vance, Rachel Brown and Amy Boyce (all year 11) were selected for the North Eastern Area Board Team (Trials held on 15 October in Ballyclare High School) to play in the Youth Games in March. At Under 13 level Jayne Davis, Ellen Davis, Ellen Bates, Beth McLean, Claire Wilson and Neha Varghese were selected during trials on Tuesday 18 November in Ballyclare High School. These girls will play in the Under 13 section of the Youh Games in March.
The Year 8 and 9 teams extremely well dominated their match against Sperrin Integrated College's Year 8 and 9 teams. With some magnificent play from player of the match Jessical O'Neill driving home several of the goals with amazing force and accuracy. The final score 8-5 to Magherafelt High. Fantastic performance from all the girls. Keep up this effort!!
Year 13 Geography Students recently attended a Fieldwork Day and visit to Magilligan Field Centre in order to study Plant Succession on a Sand Dune Ecosystem at the Umbra Nature Reserve.

A group of 37 Year 12 and 13 students who study Technology and Business Studies travelled to the IKEA store in Belfast on Monday, 3 November 2014 where they found out a great deal about the Company, it's marketing schemes, product design and their efforts to promote environmental measures and sustainability within the design and manufacture of their products. Year 10 Student Adam Parke pictured with his WW1 Bayonet and two Widow's Pennies of Robert Park and John Park, great-uncle's of Adam. These Pennies or Memorial Plaques were issued after the First World War to the next of kin of all British and Empire Service Personnel who were killed as a result of the War.
All GCSE and A-Level Art exam work must be collected from the school during the month of November. Please contact the school and give 24 hours' notice before collection.
