MHS YEAR 10 PUPILS' MEET CHILDREN'S WRITER EOIN COLFER

4 year 10 pupils' from Magherafelt High School, along with their English teacher Mrs Kelly recently attended a poetry convention celebrating the life and work of Poet Laureate the late Seamus Heaney. 

Pupils' and teachers from the other post-primary schools in Magherafelt also attended.  After Zara Stewart, Rebekah Scott, Mark Cochrane, Gareth Stewart took part in a poetry trail in the gardens of Kielt's Guest House and posed for a few photographs along the way, they met children's writer Eoin Colfer, author of the Artemis Fowl series.  Pupils' and teachers listened as Colfer told both serious and humorous stories of his childhood and growing up, and his journey to becoming a famous children's writer.
