MHS STUDENTS VISIT KRAKOW, POLAND
Over mid-term a joint group of sixth formers from St. Pius’ College and MHS travelled to Krakow in Poland to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. The trip began with a historical tour of the Krakow Ghetto and the Jewish Quarter, Kazimierz followed by a trip to the world renowned world heritage site, the Wieliczka Salt Mines. On the Thursday, the group travelled to Auschwitz and investigated the causes of the genocide that occurred there.
Naomi Duncan said that, ‘Overall, the trip was very beneficial and I found that when it comes to a serious topic such as Auschwitz, you really need to go to Poland and experience it first-hand.’ Lindsey Clarke described the whole trip as ‘Kraking!’
