|
From left-to-right: Who said Basketball was a boy's game. Nobody told the High School Year 9 girls who have been riding the crest of a wave after reaching the All Ireland finals, representing their province (Ulster) in doing so. The team, under the expert tutelage of Basketball coach Mrs Wade will be competing against their southern counterparts in soon-to-be arranged games. For many of the girls in the team, Basketball is a new sport for them and to reach the All Irelands in their first competitive season is an fantastic achievement. Amongst other things, the girls will be playing for bragging rights over the boys who will also be representing their province at the finals. Undoubtedly this will spur the girls on even more. Recognition must also be given to the PE department, in particular Mrs Wade, for their commitment, coaching talents and dedication in helping to get her team thus far. Good luck girls! 5th May 2009
